To reduce emissions and comply with international environmental standards, the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) was developed to remove soot from diesel engine exhausts.
Soot is caused by the incomplete combustion of fuel.

The problem is that ash and contamination accumulate in the DPF and eventually clog the pores, reducing its effectiveness.

This clogging will ultimately lead to a significant increase in NOx emissions and fuel consumption.

Regular maintenance of the DPF is therefore essential.

Many diesel engines with a DPF are equipped with an automatic regeneration program that injects more fuel into the engine to achieve a higher combustion temperature and thus destroy the particulate buildup.

However, this can also result in unburned fuel mixing with engine oil in the lower part of the engine, potentially causing damage.

Moreover, such regeneration is often impossible because many cars are used in the city and spend a lot of time in traffic jams.

As a result, the necessary temperature at which the particles are burned is not reached.

That's why Bardahl has developed a DPF Cleaner (Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner), suitable for any type of engine equipped with a diesel particulate filter.

Bardahl DPF Cleaner: Lowers the combustion temperature to destroy soot: diesel particulates normally burn at temperatures above 600°C. However, by the time they reach the filter, the temperature has already dropped to 300-350°C.

This leads to a buildup of unburned particles on the filter.

Due to its active ingredient, this additive lowers the temperature at which suspended particles burn. This removes the accumulated deposits from the filter.

Prevents particulate filter clogging caused by soot accumulation.

Prevents damage to the specific components that enable the combustion of harmful particles. Prevents increased fuel consumption, loss of performance, and the replacement of expensive parts due to particulate filter clogging.
