This cooling system additive is a fast-acting sealant for leaking radiators. This "stop leak" forms a tough and durable seal in the leak. Using this "stop leak" also prevents future leaks. Bardahl Radiator Stop Leak stops leaks in the cooling system. It is a scientific combination of sealing agents, corrosion inhibitors, and ingredients that prevent scale buildup. This product stops leaks in the radiator, hoses, and heater core, as well as hairline cracks in the water jacket and cylinder head. The problem: The cooling system of most engines is a simple mechanical device that transfers heat from the engine block to the cooling system fluid and then to the outside air via the radiator fins. This system prevents the engine from overheating and also ensures that it stays warm enough to operate as efficiently as possible. A drop in the coolant level is a dangerous sign. Loss of coolant is dangerous because it ultimately results in overheating. A noticeable loss means that a leak has developed somewhere in the system. Sometimes the leaks are in the radiator, but more often in the engine block, in the connecting hoses, valves, and fittings. They start small but quickly become larger due to the high pressure in the system. When you notice a drop in the fluid level, the first thing to do is look for visible leaks or cracks. If, for example, a bad hose is the cause, it should be replaced. The sealing agents remain in the cooling system until they find a leak. They then settle into the holes or cracks and harden upon contact with air. This creates a plastic seal that is tough enough to withstand the pressure and temperature of the cooling system and flexible enough to withstand shock and vibration without clogging narrow passages. Bardahl Radiator Stop Leak can thus be used to seal existing leaks. When added to the cooling system during cleaning, it provides immediate protection against leaks that may develop later, preventing serious damage.

Pour the contents of the radiator into the can. Allow the water level to drop. Idle the engine for 10 minutes or drive for a short distance. Turn the heater on high. For best results, first flush the radiator and fill it almost full with clean water. Warm up the engine, then pour Stop Leak into the radiator as described above. One can is sufficient for radiators up to 20 liters in capacity. For larger cooling systems or larger leaks, use two cans. For maximum results, it is recommended to first flush the cooling system with Bardahl Radiator Fast Flush.
