Increasing the Cetane Rating: Bardahl developed Cetane Booster to improve the cetane rating of diesel fuel. The cetane rating has a significant impact on the fuel's ignition quality.
The higher the cetane rating, the faster the diesel will ignite. The cetane number is a measure of combustion quality.
The higher the cetane number, the more flammable the diesel.
However, moisture is a potential problem in many diesel engines.
Moisture in the diesel causes a drop in the cetane number.
Bardahl's cetane booster increases the cetane number by up to 5 points. The diesel will burn faster and more completely, resulting in:
